SignalButton ("we," "our," or "the app") is a communication assistance application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Profile Information: Your first name, last name, and room number (if applicable). This is stored locally on your device.
  • Contact Information: Phone numbers and names of contacts you configure for calling. This is stored locally on your device.
  • Call Button Configuration: Your personalized call button labels, messages, and settings. This is stored locally on your device.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Subscription Status: We verify your subscription status through your app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) via RevenueCat, our subscription management partner.
  • Device Identifiers: A randomly generated anonymous user ID for subscription validation. This is not linked to your personal identity.

How We Use Your Information

  • Placing Calls: Phone numbers are used solely to place calls on your behalf through Azure Communication Services.
  • Text-to-Speech: Your configured messages are processed by Azure Cognitive Services to generate speech during calls. Messages are processed in real-time and are not stored by the service.
  • Subscription Management: Your anonymous user ID is used to verify your subscription status.

Data Storage

Local Storage: Your profile, contacts, and call button configurations are stored exclusively on your device. We do not upload or sync this data to any cloud service.

No Call Recording: SignalButton does not record, store, or retain any call audio. Audio is processed in real-time for text-to-speech delivery and is not persisted.

Third-Party Services

SignalButton uses the following third-party services:

  • Azure Communication Services: For placing phone calls. Subject to Microsoft Azure Terms.
  • Azure Cognitive Services: For text-to-speech processing. Subject to Microsoft Azure Terms.
  • RevenueCat: For subscription management. Subject to RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases. Subject to their respective privacy policies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is shared only as necessary to provide the calling service (i.e., phone numbers are transmitted to Azure Communication Services to place calls).

Data Retention

Since your data is stored locally on your device, it persists until you delete the app or clear app data. We do not retain any personal data on our servers.

Children's Privacy

SignalButton is intended for users aged 18 and older, or minors with parental/guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can:

  • View and edit your profile and contacts at any time within the app
  • Delete all data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data
  • Contact us with any privacy-related questions

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
